Africa Wildlife Safari

Tembo

(Elephant)

Our Tembo safari package gives you a true taste of traditional Tanzania. Immerse yourself in the culture, mingle with the locals and sample the local delicacies over 7–9 nights.

On this safari, you explore historic and incredible sights, such as the national parks of Lake Manyara and Tarangire, before a day trip to see the jaw-dropping Mteruni waterfall.

We also include an unforgettable cultural visit for you to experience Chagga culture and village life before ending your adventure on the beautiful beaches of the turquoise Tanzanian coastline.

Africa Tours

Simba

(Lion)

Embark on an adventure that ventures deep through the Rift Valley and onward into the notorious Ngorongoro Crater. Our Simba safari experience is a 10–11-night private tour across our amazing national parks and scenic coastline.

Known worldwide as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and the largest intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater safari is home to phenomenal views and iconic Tanzanian wildlife, such as black Rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards, and buffalo.

Your Simba Tanzania safari holiday will continue with a stunning drive to the picturesque Pangani beach on the East Coast. Guests are then encouraged to stay another day to visit the famous island of Zanzibar by boat.

Explore Tanzania

Kifaru

(Rhino)

As our most extensive safari adventure package, our Kifaru safari covers 12-15 unforgettable nights. We begin with you staying in luxury camps within the world-famous Serengeti National Park before a trip to explore the Ngorongoro Crater.

You will then travel to the east coast before ending your adventure on a high by visiting the legendary Island of Zanzibar, the jewel of the Indian Ocean.

Kifaru aims to include various safari and cultural experiences filled with people, places, scenery and wildlife. We ensure you receive the most comfortable accommodation wherever you stay while each day inspires you with more magical experiences to take home.

Tanzania Safari FAQs

If you have any questions about pricing, planning or logistics, here you can find we’ve taken the time to answer some common safari questions:

Our Massawe Adventures safaris start from £2,100, with flights not included.

We recommend spending seven days on safari in Tanzania to make the most of the experience. However, spending a fortnight here will allow you to explore the numerous iconic regions and maximise your adventure on safari.

Known as a safari capital, Tanzania is the home of many famous safari locations, including Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Serengeti National Park. All these locations have the potential to be the best safari in Tanzania based on your preferences.

We suggest scheduling your Tanzania safari holiday during the long-dry season between July and September. This is the best time for safari in Tanzania due to the great migration over river crossings, while less grass and bush density make it easier to spot the wildlife.

Numerous locations in Tanzania would offer an incredible stay during your safari. We’d recommend at least two or three nights in a Ngorongoro Crater lodge alongside seeking some Lake Eyasi accommodation to see the flamingo and white pelicans.

The best location to fly to is Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you can meet your trusted Tanzania adventure planner, who can transfer you comfortably to your first location.

Considered the safari capital of Africa, Tanzania is safe for tourists to visit, with the government making the safety of foreign tourism a main priority. However, tourists are still encouraged to take precautions and choose an official adventure planner provider with proven experience in arranging safari holidays.

We recommend bringing the following items to make the most of your Tanzania safari adventure:

  • Camera
  • Binoculars
  • Sunscreen
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Eco-friendly wet wipes
  • Insect repellent
  • Basic first aid and prescriptions medicines
  • Malaria tablets
  • Handheld torch/Headtorch
  • Necessary chargers, batteries and power adapters
  • Personal toiletries (Soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc.)

Despite the beauty of the environment, it pays to be practical out on the savannah. Keep your colours neutral and aim to bring layers to abide the hot day temperatures and cold declines at night. We don’t recommend bright, white, and black colour clothes as you should try to blend in with the natural surroundings.

  • Boots or sturdy sandals
  • Sun hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Robust shorts with deep pockets
  • T-shirts, polo necks, and lightweight long-sleeve shirts
  • Jumper, fleece or pullover jacket for when it gets cold
  • Light Long trousers or convertible long-short trousers are ideal
  • Cotton socks and underwear
